Chapter 782. Vibrant
Chapter 782. Vibrant
Julian, Kailen, and Landruff appeared in Lucian’s room. Their abrupt appearance shocked the three siblings.
Were they dreaming?
"Dad...?" The trio spoke at the same time.
When was the last time they had seen their old man?
Julian stared at his three children with warmth.
"Mmm. Let’s save the reunion for later. We should focus on finding a solution to Lucian’s problem. Landruff has already filled us in on everything on our way here," Julian said.
His children nodded. Although they were all full of emotions on seeing their father, they knew what held precedence was Lucian’s survival. Did their father really have a solution to Lucian’s problem?
They saw their father turn to the pale-skinned man with void-like hair and eyes.
"Kailen... please, save him. I lost their mother. I can’t lose any of them too," Julian said. His voice was a bit shaky. Julian’s children had never seen their father lose composure like this. Warmth and emotion rocked their hearts.
Kailen replied warmly, "Don’t worry. He will be fine. I just need to guide any Rank 9 alchemist the clan through the process."
The moment Kailen spoke, Julian was relieved. He knew Kailen was not careless with words. This made his promises carry a lot of weight. If he was not confident, he would not say he could save Lucian.
Julian’s children were a bit skeptical. They had seen a lot of alchemists appear here, but they failed. It was not that they doubted the black-haired man; constant disappointments had made them this way. However, since their old man seemed very confident in the man’s abilities, they didn’t see anything wrong with trusting him. Besides, did they have any other choice?
Julian whispered a few words to Landruff. Landruff disappeared.
A moment later, he returned with the most skilled Rank 9 alchemist in the Seir Clan, a white-haired woman with a regal bearing. The moment the woman appeared, she did not even have the time to greet before Kailen spoke.
"Kindly get these ingredients: The Arcane Herb, Incumbutith dew, Serus serum, Hensigen Jinseng."
The woman nodded politely, then made a call. Very soon, someone brought the ingredients to her.
An alchemy flame appeared before her. Kailen was not surprised she would not use a cauldron. Since she was the best alchemist in the Seir Clan, it was only natural she would be this skilled.
Kailen started to guide her through the process of making an alchemical product. He used words to direct her throughout the process—on how to adjust the alchemy flame, the temperature, and on how to use her spiritual power to mix the ingredients, among others.
Throughout the process, the woman was extremely shocked. She felt her purity level and alchemical skill seemed to be advancing.
Who the hell was this man the patriarch had brought with him? Was he someone who had made a name for himself in the edge region before he became a Transcendent and left to the chaotic region? Perhaps his rise in the edge region, before he became a Transcendent and left the edge region, had happened in the distant past, and through the ravages of time, he may have been forgotten. That should be the case. If not, how could such a man not be known in the edge region?
Just through his direction with words, she felt herself gaining more clarity as an alchemist. Even as a Rank 9 alchemist, she had never felt so humbled in her life.
As these thoughts flashed through her mind and the alchemical product was being crafted, everyone in the room—except Julian, who knew of Kailen’s accomplishments as an alchemist in the light region before Kailen became a Transcendent—watched with quiet and shocked attention. They were not fools. Naturally, they knew how powerful and prideful Black Flask Tumina was. But now, she was acting like an obedient pupil to this man.
Eventually, Kailen ceased talking. He had finished guiding Tumina.
An alchemical product hovered in the room. It was a pill. It looked very ordinary. However, it had this otherworldly feel to it. It was nothing ordinary.
Tumina stared at the mysterious man looking at the pill as if it was beneath him.
Kailen said, "Good work. Kindly feed it to Lucian. Since it’s your product, you get to administer it."
Tumina nodded respectfully. "Would be my pleasure, sir."
She moved to Lucian’s bed. Everyone observed.
Riselia, Oblivion, and Landruff were looking forward to Lucian’s recovery. Could this pill really create a miracle and help Lucian to recover?
As for Julian, he had never doubted Kailen’s skill. Since Kailen was the one who guided Tumina, his son would naturally be fine. However, he was naturally anxious. He was a parent, after all.
Lucian himself, although expectant, was not too hopeful. This was something hope deferred could do. He didn’t want to get his hopes up too much and get hurt again if it didn’t work.
Lucian opened his mouth as Tumina guided the floating pill into his mouth. He swallowed it.
The place was silent for a moment.
"You should be sneezing the poison out any moment from now. After that, your face will regain color. You will feel essentially vibrant, as if your universe energy pathways are being fed with universe energy after being thirsty for a very long time," Kailen’s calm voice resounded in the room.
The moment he spoke, Lucian suddenly sneezed. Black liquid came out of his nose and scattered across the place as he sneezed. Before the liquid could land on anyone, Julian appeared and caught it all with his hand. As a transcendent, poison could not do anything to him. He waved his hand and the black liquid disappeared.
Lucian’s eyes were very vibrant now.
Kailen asked warmly, "How do you feel now, Lucian?"
Lucian looked at Kailen with warmth and gratitude. He naturally knew it was because of this man that he was fine, and not because of Tumina. In the past, Tumina was one of the alchemists who had tried to make antidotes to cure him. However, she naturally failed. Was it not because of the directions his father’s friend orally gave her a few moments ago, she naturally would not have succeeded.
"Uncle... I feel very fine now. It’s just as you described. I’m brimming with vitality. I’m healed," Lucian said.
