Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights

Chapter 436 I Fight Against Myself

Chapter 436 I Fight Against Myself

A woman clad in a silver hooded garment, with a veil made of chain hanging from her nose down, walked toward a huge door manned by two summoners.

The summons of these summoners were huge giants that had little flesh. They were almost bones; even their ribcages were almost jutting out of their flesh.

Standing at impressive heights of nearly thirty-two meters tall, these two giants, with terrifying faces and long hair that fell to their shoulder blades, stared at this woman.

She walked with an elegant gait. Even though she wore a loose garment, the sway of her body could distract a man.

Behind her were two women in black garments, each holding a tray with two cloches. When they got to the door, the giants pushed it inward, revealing a massive hall.

"Do not toy with this honour." Nerissa's sweet yet commanding voice rang from behind her silver hood. "This is the Hall of Worship, where the elite of our society appear to worship the Father of the New World. It's a privilege; you serve his meal now that he has returned."

Both women nodded softly.

Their heads were facing the floor, same for Nerissa, as they stepped into the hall. The moment they crossed the hallway into the hall, the atmosphere changed.

Nerissa's heart pounded, and her face paled. Her hands trembled as she slowly lifted her face.

What she saw on the elevated platform at the end of the hall was a huge being, not more than fifteen feet tall.

It sat on air.

One leg was folded horizontally while the other hung down, like this being sat on an invisible chair. A blue cloth with golden stripes went around its waist and flowed down, almost touching the floor.

All eight arms were folded. Its torso was exposed, but that body didn't look like it was made of flesh, more like black steel, though its head looked normal.

One of its heads, to be specific. This creature had three visible heads. The one facing them was a handsome black-haired human head; the other two were a horned goat's head and an eagle's head.

The last head was right behind and couldn't be seen.

"Drop the food." Nerissa whispered and fell on her knees. The girls quickly followed suit, foreheads pressed against the ground.

There was a giant box of water right behind this summon. The water retained its box form even without a glass wall.

"Lift your heads." A sonorous voice rang, and they all lifted their heads.

A man with long, wet black hair had stepped out of the water.

His body was chiseled to perfection, and this wasn't an exaggeration. His chin was sharp, his eyes deep and alluring.

Cain was too attractive to be real, like a man made without imperfections… like a being that stepped out of paper.

Fiction made real.

He tied a towel around his waist and beckoned for Nerissa with one hand. She quickly rushed to the platform, walking past the silent summon.

As she moved behind it and wore a loose robe that exposed Cain's chest on him, her eyes went to his summon.

Now she could see the fourth. 'Where's the head? It's just a neck, and it looks like…'

"I ripped it off." Cain's statement made Nerissa flinch. He turned and held her chin.

"I know what you want, but this politics doesn't satisfy me. I created you; all this beauty was to prove a point, that I could do better than what the world has. But I can't be attracted to what I made."

He left her chin, then looked at the two girls who shivered in his presence. His eyes narrowed.

"Leave."

They swiftly retreated. Nerissa got to the door and suddenly paused. She turned, facing Cain, who stood on the platform beside his summon, her eyes slightly red.

"Why?! You made me, so what? You've proved your point. I am better than any woman out there. Not even increasing their looks with their pathetic skills can make them better than me."

Listening to her outburst, Cain slowly lifted an eyebrow.

"Do you know what my inspiration was for you?"

He slowly descended.

"I studied a being called the devil in the books of the old age. I discovered he had a special creature called the succubus, and her duty was to use her allure to draw anyone. Though she was the weakest physically, her allure placed the world in her hands."

Cain stood before her.

"I did not create you so you could sit on my bed. I made you to help me conquer. I am a conqueror, and so far you've been disappointing me. All of you."

He crossed his arms.

"You have met me in the worst mood, Nerissa. I just lost one of my most recent creations. I had to bow my head to the elves, to smile while being mocked and looked down on by a good number of them, and just like that, I lost something that cost me my pride."

He smiled. It was a wide smile, a handsome smile, yet his eyes boiled with rage.

"Things I have done for knowledge."

He suddenly began to laugh as he went back to the elevated platform and suddenly floated.

Cain assumed the same poise as his summon and beckoned to Nerissa.

"Sit. I'm interested in speaking today. It's been a long time since I've felt things drift out of my control."

"But you are a God. A true one. Your skills, your summon, none of it can be replicated. I've looked around, and you're still in control." Nerissa responded.

"Then you've not looked deeply. I'm losing against myself. A more refined version of myself, if I must add."

"... Is… Is it your last… head?"

"Indeed. I ripped out that whisperer. His words were always so irritating, so foolish, and most of all, childish. I couldn't have guessed the part I ripped off and left to die has been brought back to torment me."

Cain's eyes gleamed.

Earth is a board being played by two gods. But these gods are under the strings of fate, time, and mana.

Controlled.

He clenched his teeth, stopping himself from an outburst. He loathed anything that wanted to control him and so… he loathed the Mana Tree with his very being.

He loathed it for using him.

And if he could kill it… he… wouldn't.

Because in the end… it gave power.
